Trend•y Editorial Magazine
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The challenge was to create an online news platform which met the goals and needs of a presented user persona named Paula. Over a week sprint, my partner Shanttel and I created Trend•y. An artsy E-Magazine that allows users to keep up with the latest trends, but most importantly share their work with other
Surveys & Data
Because we were presented with our user persona first, My partner and knew we had to find real life people who matched the persona so we could better understand who we were designing for. That being so, we held interviews in a trendy art driven area near Miami named Wynwood. We also sent out surveys to young individuals who read magazines on a daily basis.
COMPETITOR ANALYSIS
In order to learn who our competitors were, we conducted a competitor feature analysis to understand what content they incorporate in their sites. The data revealed user pain points as there was no feature on how to connect with others or display their art work.
Moscow Method
After analyzing our research, Shanttel and I ideated off of our user’s pains & gains. We then utilized the Moscow method to help organize the ideas we came up with and prioritized them into our Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
User Flow
Before creating wire frames we made a user-flow which helped us plan out the screens we needed as well as the features in each.
We then created Lo-fi’s, and selected the ones that added more value to our users and then organized them. We also conducted usability testing on our lo-fi’s. The results revealed that each user had a 100% success rate on completing the task flow. However, we did recieve feed back that we should implement a way for the user to post their work without having to be in their profile or article. So we made sure to incorporate it in the mid-fi’s.
Mid-fi’s
We made the changes in our mid-fi’s. The screen to upload their work was going to be introduced as a pop up window
